    Hi Ryan,

When you get time and resources, can you write a bit about Imaoka Machinao and his pottery? I think his pottery needs some recognition here in the West.

    • japanesepots says:

      Hey Aman,
Imaoka is a very good potter. His glazed pieces, especially those with “apricot-skin” glaze, in either silver or gold, are especially nice. I’ll see what I can dredge up when I have the time.

  6. doug says:

Hi Ryan, would it be possible to ship pots to Australia

    • japanesepots says:

Yep. Worldwide. I’ve sent pots to 14 countries, never a single issue, though duties and import taxes are your responsibilty(but whatever you buy, it cost $50, right? Right ;-))
Shipping worldwide via express is pricey, and costs 30-40 for one pot(shohin size), and 35-50 for 3(shohin size), so it always pays and saves with international to buy multiple pots(I also give discount rates for multiple purchases, and can hold a pot or 4 for a week or two.
      Thanks for reading!

  7. Miguel says:

Hello Ryan … I stumbled on your blog a couple years agao, been come back to see what’s offered new every couple of months ever since. These pots are so lovely, and so varied, what an education!
Site is still showing a little kusamono pot – wondering if it is available: listed as “Hosen, Tokoname, green glazed larger accent or mini with frog. 3.5 by 1.6″. $80″ Thank you for letting me know.
Also, am keeping my eye out for an oval Bigei pot, the deep red glaze, with or without engraved design — my tree needs 14″ wide and no less than 3” deep for general range. Every pot I’ve located is still far too small. Wondering if you might know of such? Thank you again for your time and answers.
