I managed to pick up this Bushuan, Shigeru Fukuda, yesterday, and wanted to share. At 9″, it is much larger than most of the other pots I’ve seen by him, and I think it could easily be considered some of his best work. The lovely wraparound glaze, and marvelous drippy glaze over that, are truly masterful. A wonderful mix of deep blues and greens. The feet and unique drainage holes are cool as well.

Yep, paid through the nose too! While the best Bushuan I’ve seen before this one range from 40-45,000¥, this one was a bit more!!
Quality over quantity right? Start shelling out for the good stuff and cut back on the quick fix pot buys. It’s a hard lesson to learn when you’re a “pot head”. After seeing your new Bushuan however… it motives me to be more discerning. I need one.. not want one…..
Ha! I find myself in the same position! It takes real effort for me not to buy 5 nice pots so I can have the one Great One!
